Outdoor Beauty

Nature makes for the some of the best sightseeing, and that’s especially true in Provo. Both Rock Canyon and Provo Canyon are only minutes from the city, providing both scenic views and plenty of hiking and climbing trails. In the fall, jump in your car and take the Provo Canyon Scenic Drive. Enjoy not only will you see an amazing display of fall foliage, but Bridal Veil Falls, too. Utah’s Bridal Veil Falls in one of the state’s most scenic destinations and one of the best Provo sightseeing attractions, and you don’t even need to hike to reach it. Of course, the Provo Canyon Scenic Drive and Bridal Veil Falls are beautiful year-round - keep your camera at hand!

If a scenic drive doesn’t fulfill your sightseeing quest, then try hiking Mount Timpanogos! One of Utah’s most well-known mountains (and the second highest in the nearby Wasatch Range), Timpanogos tops off at an elevation of nearly 11,800 feet. The hike to the top isn’t for beginners, but the views from the top are unparalleled.

One of Provo’s most famous landmarks doesn’t require a hike (unless you want to) - Y Mountain is easily visible from the city. The iconic concrete “Y” is synonymous with both BYU and Provo sightseeing.

Superb Structures

The Provo Utah Temple is by far the city’s most beautiful piece of architecture. Open since 1972, the Temple is the 15th operating LDS temple and one of the city’s most popular attractions.

If you love college sports, then you need to see the LaVell Edwards Stadium, home of the Brigham Young University Cougars football team. While you’re there, check out the Marriott Center, where the University’s basketball team plays!

Museums and More

If you prefer education over adventure than fear not because Provo has more plenty of spots for you. Brigham Young University is home to four free museums: the BYU Museum of Paleontology, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum, the BYU Museum of Art, and the BYU Museum of Peoples and Cultures.

Dive into local history and head to the Provo Pioneer Village, and learn about the people who settled the city. Reenactors, blacksmiths, wood shops, reconstructed historic buildings, festivals, and more all are part of the fun here. Visiting is a must!

The Soap Factory Provo is one of the city’s most popular places to visit. If you’ve never given thought to soap or how it’s made, you’ll not only learn all about the history of this household staple but make it, too.
